PHILLIPPO SCOUT RESERVATION SUMMER KICK-OFF

 

WHAT:  A weekend of fun in the warm sun with camping, games, contests, movies,

and a scout Good Turn” helping get camp ready for the summer camping season.

 

WHEN Friday-Sunday, May 11-13, 2007. Check-in begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and

Check-out will be 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. We’re Scouts, so we go rain or shine!!!

 

WHERE:  Phillippo Scout Reservation near Cannon Falls, MNThe Headquarters will

be the main Dining Hall.

 

WHO:  This weekend is open to ALLScouts, Scouters, and Units in Northern Star

CouncilYou don’t have to be a member of the Order of the Arrow to attend.

 

COST:  Just $15.00 per person!!!  The cost includes: camping fees, event patch, and

all meals, which will be cooked for you in the wonderful Phillippo Dining

Hall!!!

 

ACTIVITIES:  There will be two main activities that will take place this weekend.

First, will be Saturday where we will do our service projects to help get the camp ready for the summer camping season.  This is a great opportunity for

OA members to provide service to one of our camps, and for all Scouts to do

a service project for advancement and just because we’re Scouts.

Second, we will have lots of games, contests, and other fun including watching movies on a GIANT indoor screen, while eating popcorn and goodies.

 

EQUIPMENT:  Work Clothing, gloves, scout uniform, tent, tarp, and sleeping gear.  At this event everyone will be tenting jamboree style.

 

HEALTH FORMS: Each participant must have a signed health form at check-in.

REGISTATION:  Do two things: First,unit leaders send an email to millsjo@frontiernet.net letting us know your name, unit number and the number of youth and adults attending. 2006 Vigils Inducted

CBD would like to recognize our three new Vigil members for 2006. They are along with their Native American name and the translation:

The Vigil Honor is the highest honor that the Order of the Arrow can bestow upon its members for service to lodge, council, and Scouting. Membership cannot be won by a person's conscious endeavors.

The Vigil Honor is a high mark of distinction and recognition reserved for those Arrowmen who, by reason of exceptional service, personal effort, and unselfish interest, have made distinguished contributions beyond the immediate responsibilities of their position of office to one or more of the following:

  • Lodge
  • Order of the Arrow
  • Scouting community
  • Scout Camp
